Therefore, their natural process was to go quiet, because it stirred something up in them that they didn't immediately know how to deal with. You worry that you don't understand people. But do you understand yourself? Do you truly? If you're completely comfortable in your own skin, then yeah-- you get to make that judgement about other people. If not, then maybe you could work on yourself, in which case-- when you understand yourself better you'll be better equipped to understand people.
